• Jake McNiece

James Elbert "Jake" McNiece was a US Army paratrooper in World War II. Private McNiece was a member of the Filthy Thirteen, an elite demolition unit. McNiece practiced in several operations throughout world war 2 with the 101st Airborne Division.

James McNiece was born on May 24th, 1919, in Maysville, Oklahoma, the ninth of ten children born to Eli Hugh and Rebecca McNiece, and of Irish American and Choctaw descent. During the Depression, the family moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma in 1931. In 1939, he graduated from Ponca City High School and went to work in road construction, and then at the Pine Bluff Arsenal, where he gained experience in the use of explosives. McNiece enlisted for military service on September 1st, 1942. He was assigned to the demolition saboteur section of what was then the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment. This section became the Filthy Thirteen, first led by Lieutenant Charles Mellen, who was killed in action on June 6th, 1944, during the Invasion of Normandy. Following Mellen's death, Private McNiece became acting leader of the unit. McNiece is iconically recognized by wearing Native American–style "mohawk" and applying war paint to himself and other members of his unit which, excited the public's interest in this unit. The inspiration for this came from McNiece, who was part Choctaw.

McNiece's deliberate disobedience and disrespect during training prevented him from being promoted past Private when most Paratroopers were promoted to Private First Class after 30 days. McNiece would act as section sergeant and first sergeant through various missions. His first sergeant and company commanders knew he was the man the regiment could count on during combat. McNiece went on to make a total of four wartime combat jumps, the first as part of the Invasion of Normandy in 1944. In the same year he jumped as part of Operation Market Garden in the Netherlands. McNiece would see action again at the Siege of Bastogne, part of the larger Battle of the Bulge. During fighting in the Netherlands, he acted as demolition platoon sergeant. He volunteered for pathfinder training, anticipating he would sit out the rest of the war training in England, but his pathfinder stick was called upon to jump into Bastogne to guide in resupply drops. McNiece received a Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and French Legion of Honor medals for his service and deeds during the war.

His last jump was in 1945, near Prüm in Germany. In recognition of his natural leadership abilities, he ended the war as the acting first sergeant for Headquarters Company, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment. McNiece would be kicked out of the military in February 1946 after fighting with MP’s. In 1949, McNiece returned to live in Ponca City. He began a 28-year career with the United States Postal Service. His first wife Rosita died in 1952 and, a year later, he married Martha Beam Wonders. They had two sons and a daughter and remained married until his death at age 93.

okay so idk what this is called so i just made it hcs GYDISJKANDSA,, anyways i downloaded league of legends a few days ago and im honestly addicted rn, have this short thing b4 i lose my mind on my wips, have a nice day/night!!

they teach you how to play the game thoroughly, show you the ropes, and are very supportive, even if you die. picks a support role to baby you as you get used to the game.

they teach you, but they're like an exasperated teacher. they repeatedly scold you for doing something you should do, and when you die they'd say "I TOLD YOU SO" and sigh.

would teach you, sure, but they're the shittiest teacher in a bad way. they would bait you into dangerous situations just so you'd die in the end. they'd lie about your hotkeys/buttons and you die again. your deaths are 90% because of him.

you have matching names, icons, and skins. the characters you use are couples or ships with good synergy. one glance and people know you're (icky) lovers.

Sing 1 Commentary and Review Pt. 2

Welcome back to the madness loves!!! Also, I tried to tone down the commentary so I get further in the movie this time (I say while making at ton of random comments at the restaurant. Ok, Johnny having to jump to reach the door handle is adorable. He's so small. Like it's obvious one of his family members opened it so they can clearly reach that, and yet Johnny's over here channeling his inner bouncy ball to reach.

Friendly reminder that at this point, we have no proof of Johnny's dad disapproving of a music career besides Johnny hiding the flyer. So I'm sticking with my theory that he has no problem with it and never has, Johnny's just terrified of disappointing him (starting strong with the queer allegory here aren't we?) and how his dad sees him changing.

RIP Rosita's house phone. You will be missed.

OK OK OK, ADORABLE HEADCANON. Some of Rosita's kids have skateboards guys. Like after they meet Johnny, they beg him to teach them tricks and how to skate better and he does. They follow him around the skatepark like duckings.

They are the mother-son duo of the series, just look at them, so cute!

The lesbians are back + a rare sighting of a 13 year old who says "bro" all day.

Writer 1: Oh! You mean the kid who actively told his dad when he was leaving to singing auditions and came back within a reasonable amount of time?

But seriously, he doesn't even sneak out. He legit tells his dad when he leaves that he's leaving. He doesn't say the location of where he's going but still, worst rebel of the century. He doesn't even have to sneak out!

Also, Marcus and him are clearly close enough and Marcus trusts Johnny enough for him to leave to go who knows where for hours at a time. They're nice to each other and (besides the singing instead of robbing bit) they seem to communicate with each other really well. Father-son duo of the year everyone.

I completely forgot Rosita was stuck in line behind Mike. The poor thing. Rosita, you have my sympathies.

I completely forget that four whole members of the troupe were not first round picks. Johnny, Rosita, Gunter, and Meena all were either picked second, afterwards, or fell into the role eventually. Buster did not originally plan on having Johnny and Meena in the singing competition at all even.

Number 1 supportive boyfriend right there, love him.

Ok, this moment. This is the exact moment where Eddie suggests that Buster and him do something together instead of the theatre. His exact words are "i don't know, maybe we could do something together."

... Look at that face. There is no heterosexual explanation for saying that with that face.

Eddie coming in with the best "my boyfriend's gonna be in jail by the end of this" expression of all time.

Yeah... Marcus, Stan, and Barry definitely know that Johnny wants to be a singer. They definitely know he was going to the theatre. Why you ask? BECAUSE IT WAS ON THE BLOODY NEWS!!!

Also, in the plan they deliberately state they're avoiding the guards entirely. So no, they were never canonically violent until the second movie and that was in self defense. They don't hurt the people they're stealing from. They are genuinely good people and absolutely were non violent offenders.

I kinda like the idea of Maggie/Rosita. I feel like I'm the only one to ever consider shipping them. I hope I'm not.

💔Least favorite ship for the muse?

This is an awkward question because I don't like several of Rosita's canon ships. I can't see Gabriel/Rosita. That's my least favorite I'd say. In my opinion they have no chemistry. My own portrayal of Rosita never goes for him.

💢Something about the muse that annoys you?

Nothing about Rosita annoys me. At least I wouldn't put it like that. She makes mistakes and she has flaws just like all the other characters, but I love her or I wouldn't write her. What annoys me is that the writers never put her in good relationships. She goes through several and they are all either bad or end up bad. After losing Abraham, she loses Spencer, then Siddiq and the Gabriel one is just weird to me, it felt forced.

💡 What inspires you to write the muse?

Rosita is never really seen showing much vulnerability on the show even though she suffers a ton. She's lost family, she's watched her ex being beaten to death in front of her and she was forced to look at the bloodied murder weapon right after that, for a while she lost her best friend. Yet you hardly ever see her breaking down. It's definitely part of who she is. Rosita is a hard woman. But everybody has their breaking points and I would really like to explore how she is feeling because as well as she can handle herself, Rosita is still human.

And I would like her to be more involved with the rest of the group. Asides from Abraham and Eugene she isn't that close to anyone. They After Abraham's death, after Spencer's death, after Eugene is taken, she has no one she is really close to.

📝 Favorite headcanon for your muse?

I have multiple.

Rosita's childhood dream was to become a nurse. She's interested in medicine and loves caring for people. That's why she picked up those medical skills she learned from the others in her old group so well. She actually would have gone to nursing school after completing her military had the outbreak not happened. For as hardened as she may be, she's very caring. She's just not good with words. She will show it through actions.

My other headcanon is not the happiest headcanon and it's canon-implied, as the canon mentions she was raised by a single mom who taught her to fend for herself, but I would like to add that I think Rosita was mostly relying on herself from a young age. Her mom had to work a lot and they couldn't afford babysitters, so as soon as Rosita was able to (which was earlier than most kids) she would prepare her own meals and find jobs to financially support her mother. She also had no one to help her with homework or anything like that. Things didn't change after her mother died when she started living with her nephew and her older brother. She then also had to watch a kid in addition to dealing with school and working. And it's unexpected to many but in school she was kind of an outsider. All of those things played a part in why she survived. She has always been more self-suffiient than most but she is also good at playing her part in a team.

😒 Is there anything canon about your muse that you ignore?

Her death. My version of Rosita survives. Her daughter gets to grow up with a mother.

🔥 Unpopular opinion about your muse?

She's an underrated character. She gets objectified too much and not seen for who she is.

⌨ What’s a situation you’ve always wanted to RP with the muse?

I would love to play her during the Negan era. I'm mutuals with a Negan blog, so a confrontation with Negan, a face-to-face conversation between the two would be thrilling. And I think Rosita could bond with Maggie. Everyone has suffered but those two have gone through very similar things. Also, they were both part of GREATM. I just feel like there is so much potential.

🎭 How similar are you and the muse?

We are both emotionally guarded, blunt latinas but other than that we aren't similar at all.
